A Prize Distribution Function was organized at Govt. Sr. Sec. School Kaina on 13th August, 2015.
Swami ji along with Devotees, reached the School at 11.15 AM and they were served high tea by the School Principal and Staff.
The function started at 12.00 Noon in the open ground and it was compered by a teacher, Mr.Amar Chand, English Lecturer. He welcomed Sw. Sri Krishnananda ji, devotees, staff members and students.
Following welcome address, the programme started with Ganesh and Sarswati Bandna. A group of students also presented a welcome song. Then, the principal Mr. Surender Kumar Sharma, while welcoming Swami ji and others, highlighted the assistance provided by the Yogoda Satsanga Sadhnalya, Panti. It was followed by a Talk on Paramahansa Yogananda by a 10+2 student.
Mr. ML Chauhan, a senior YSS devotee, being himself a teacher by profession, stressed on the importance of the role of a teacher in shaping the life of students. He shared his personal experience about teaching students with the audience. He exhorted teachers to take up teaching in a missionary spirit. He also briefed about the aims and objectives of YSSI and how to seek membership of the Society.
A small cultural programme was presented by the students which included group/ individual recitation of Dohas, Shalokas and Bhajan. School Band was also played by the students. The programme was really enjoyable.
This was followed by prize distribution by Swami ji. 45 students were given certificates of merit/ performance, cash money, YSS books, devotional articles and pens. Seven students of tenth and 10+2 classes, securing first, second and third positions in the last year HP Board Exams were also awarded certificates of merit and Autobiography of a Yogi. Other prize winners were those who got first, second and third positions in various competitive events like Quiz and Painting and Dohas, Shalokas & Poem recitation. One student got consolation cash prize. Ten students who played school band were also given a cash prize.

Swami ji, while addressing the students, emphasized that the goal of life was to know and love the God. He advised the students to follow spiritualism along with study. The Principal of School presented Swami ji with a memento of Lord Shiva.
In the end, Mr. P.P.Sharma, Secretary of the Managing Committee expressed his vote of thanks to the Principal, teachers, students and other staff members for arranging the function nicely and successfully.
After the function was over, students, teachers and other staff members were served snacks.
